Demonware is responsible for developing and running the online services for some of the largest entertainment franchises in the world. We work side by side with Activision’s game studios including Treyarch, Infinity Ward & Sledgehammer Games to deliver amazing games at massive scale. We ensure that those games stay online, 24/7 for years after launch.

The Products department is responsible for the online services product suite that serve the Call of Duty franchise and Activision’s other major titles. We work closely with title project teams at Demonware and the studios to make sure they have the features they need for their upcoming games. We chart a long-term vision for these products to provide the capabilities that enable Activision's game studios to focus on building the best games in the world.

The Storage Product team in Demonware is responsible for providing storage services to studios for game progression, replays, user generated content, game configuration and other data. Our python services are built on top of Kubernetes, Cassandra DB, Redis, Elasticsearch, Kafka and typically deployed to our own on-prem hardware.

This position offers the opportunity to create new and maintain existing critical path storage systems. You will work within a team of developers and lead our SRE initiatives. You will coordinate with and get support from the other talented SREs in Demonware on highly challenging problems. Given our data focus we place huge importance on reliability and stability and are looking for individuals who share these values. It is a full-time position at Demonware’s office in Dublin's city center.


  • 5+ years relevant work experience, including in a high-volume or critical production service environment
  • Experience working at scale - hundreds or thousands of servers
  • Comfortable automating with scripting languages like Python or Ruby.
  • Experience with at least one major database MySQL, Cassandra, Hadoop, etc.
  • Deep understanding of fundamental technologies, e.g. TCP/IP, Linux/Unix internals
  • Experience with configuration management systems, e.g. Puppet, Chef or Ansible
  • Demonstrable capacity for an investigative approach and keen to learn new technologies
  • Demonstrated excellence in communicating within and across teams

  • Desirable:
  • Experience in monitoring and metrics systems, e.g. Nagios, Zabbix, Graphite or Prometheus
  • Experience working with private and public cloud tech, e.g. Kubernetes, Mesosphere, AWS or GCP
  • Background in Software Engineering is advantageous
